MOASH AF plays a special role in Michigan's political landscape, with our focus on youth power and engagement in decisions concerning their sexual and reproductive health.

We commit to the following goals and plans for the future:

  • Build the capacity of young people in the state for rapid response to the volatile political climate at local levels in Michigan targeting the autonomy and well-being of youth

  • Engage in on-the-ground work supporting young candidates and candidates that support equity and justice for all young people

  • Relationship building with legislators, school board members, and other elected officials that leverage the credibility of our partner 501(c)(3), Michigan Organization of Adolescent Sexual Health (MOASH)

  • Building our visibility, leadership, and collective power within and across relevant networks, including taking on important work that partner 501(c)(3)s are limited in

  • Stop regressive legislation and advance progressive legislation, mobilizing youth and general public support

  • Develop an infrastructure of funds and resources for board and staff development that transforms MOASH AF into an eventual youth-led organization

Priorities from youth:

  • Expanding access to contraception

  • Supporting queer and trans youth healthcare

  • Supporting comprehensive and inclusive sex education

  • Removing barriers to reproductive and abortion healthcare
